Depiction of the eight great events of the Buddha's Life on cloth painting, shown within architectural structures (stūpa). The painting displays the englightenment scenes the in middle, with the other seven scenes around the it.
The top of the painting displays the scene of death of the Buddha and his Parinirvāṇa is depicted. On the right site from the botton to top there are the depiction of the birth of the Buddha, the miracle of multiplication at and the taming of the elephant Nalagiri. The other side displays from bottom to top, the monkeys gift of honey, the first sermon and the descent from the Tāvatiṃsa heaven. Under the central image of the englightenment is a sequence of narrations depicted. From right to left they show, the Buddha's Father, King Suddhodana receiving the prophet Asita, the Prince (Siddharta Gautama) leaving the City and his horse waiting for him, Siddharta cutting his hair and becoming a ascetic, Siddharta meditating inside a cave with small figure offereing milk (girl Sujata), and Siddharta sitting in meditation again.
