Description
Panel depicting eight principal scenes of Buddha's life i.e. four main & four secondary life events of Buddha’s life.(Birth, Enlightenment, First sermon, Parinirvana and the Miracle of Multiplication, the taming of the elephant Nalagiri, the gift of honey and his descent from the Tāvatiṃsa heaven). This depiction shows all of the scenes in equal size and side by side in pairs of two images. The four major events are on the top and bottom part of the sculpture and the four minor events (or miracles) are all in the middle.
